About

I built this for one question

Do you need a visa for China? Pages online often mix three different rules. I got tired of that, so I made a small check that keeps them apart.

You tell me the passport country, why you're going, and how many days. I tell you whether a short trip might use 30-day visa-free entry, 240-hour transit, or Hainan only.

I don't sell visas. Nothing here is permission to enter. The officer at the border still decides.

How I decide

  1. Hong Kong or Macao in the plan? I stop.
  2. I check the 30-day list, and any mutual agreement I have actually read, even if you are only going to Hainan.
  3. Only Hainan, and those rules do not decide the trip? I use the Hainan list.
  4. 240-hour transit stays a maybe. I have not seen your ticket, your port, or the cities. If your passport and length could still fit it, I tell you the route fact I am missing instead of sending you for a visa.

What I don't check

  • Trips that include Hong Kong or Macao.
  • Your real ticket, port, or the 240-hour area.
  • Tibet permits, cruises, work, study, or journalism.
  • A specific travel date. I use the policy as I last read it.
  • I don't ask for an account, and I don't keep a history of your checks.

Where the rules come from

I last read the National Immigration Administration notices on 31 October 2026. I checked this site against those notes on 1 November 2026. The rules change. If the trip matters, look at the notice linked in your result before you go.
